About Me

Winsome Waite, PhD, accomplished national speaker, trainer, and education leader, is the founder and CEO of WP Education Services where she is responsible for education expertise and consulting services for education leaders in the K12 system. She leads a team of consultants and experts to provide research and evidence-based solutions that are customized based on context. Winsome is dedicated to the advancement of equity to attain education and life outcomes of every student and youth.

Prior to establishing WP Education Services, Winsome had over three decades of progressive experience in K–12 education serving as a practitioner and in senior education leadership roles. She is a former teacher in early childhood, elementary, and secondary schools in the state of Maryland, a graduate school instructor, and a program leader in school district and national education nonprofits.

Winsome served as Senior Consultant and Principal, Senior Director, Vice President, and Senior Education Fellow in several national nonprofits located in Washington DC.

Winsome has extensive background in program development and research-to-practice initiatives in various content areas including education leadership, science of learning, social-emotional and academic learning, deeper learning, school improvement, professional learning, and multitiered systems of support.


She has deep knowledge and experience in applying practices in diversity, equity, and inclusion as well as culturally responsive practices to whole-child education. She is an experienced technical coach who has worked with education leaders at the state, district, and school levels to build programs and develop capacity to lead them.

Winsome earned a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of the District of Columbia, a Master’s degree in Reading (K-12) from the University of Maryland, and a Doctorate from Notre Dame of Maryland University in Education Leadership.

Winsome is a Founding Board member of the Phoenix International School of the Arts (PISOTA) Charter School in Charles County, Maryland and a Board member of Children’s STEM Academy in Washington DC. She volunteers for community activities and enjoys mentoring students and young professionals in education. She currently resides in Washington DC.
